I know I shouldn’t have bought another book just yet, but I figured I might as well stock up on some more titles now. I’d rather continue to build my library of books now, and worry about dealing with it later. I just purchased Rescuing Sprite: A Dog Lover’s Story of Joy and Anguish. I have heard so many good things about this book. Obviously it appeals a bit more to dog lovers more than anything. But I’ve been told it’s a fantastic book for anyone who has dealt with the loss of a pet.

This will be the first book of this kind added to my Kindle, but I’m sure there will be similar ones to follow. I’m sure I will eventually post a review of the book somewhere. It looks like it’s going to be a fantastic day outside. All I can say is, it’s about time.

I think my Amazon Kindle believes it’s smarter than me.

Well, I suppose it probably is at the moment. The Kindle is holding way more information than my brain could possibly memorize. Just when I’m done reading something interesting on my new geek gadget, I find something even more interesting to browse through.

The business minded individuals over there at Amazon really make it easy for me to get the reading material that I’m looking for. This could be a bad thing since I might go broke loading up the Kindle, but that’s alright I guess. I can always do something with the knowledge I’m absorbing.

Like I said though, this electronic newspaper miracle machine has a way of taking all the things around me and making them disappear. I can be sitting at Union Station in Chicago with a gazillion people walking by, strange ones even, and I’m able to stay focused on reading the digital information on my screen with no absolutely no problems.

I hope that I don’t turn into a walking newspaper myself. I might end up getting recycled. Ugh. At least I don’t have to spend a ridiculous amount of time at the library sharpening my dewey decimal system skills. Give me my Amazon Kindle baby.

Improved time management skills since purchasing my Amazon Kindle.

It is well known that the average lifestyle of an active individual can prove to be quite hectic. There never seems to be enough time in one day to complete all the tasks we set out to do. It seems the harder we try, the more tasks we add to our list, and this can really bring us down. It doesn’t always have to be this way though. Every day there are more and more options available to us to help ease some of the stress we face.

For many people, a great way to relieve stress is by reading a good book or our favorite newspaper. Those who enjoy reading will never leave the house without taking a book with them. And some of us actually have huge libraries of materials that we’ve gathered over the years. If only we could gather all these materials together and keep them by our side at all times.

There are ways of doing this though. My personal favorite past time is reading newspapers. I set at least a good hour aside every single day, just to read through some of my favorite news articles. Years ago this would have been a bit more difficult. With current technology, I simply read most newspapers online. From my own personal experiences in the business world, I don’t see many people actually walking around with newspapers anymore. Their laptop is in one hand, and a latte in the other.

One of the biggest pieces of technology that has helped me through by hectic daily schedule is the Amazon Kindle. The reaction I get from people is kind of interesting. Some ask questions, others just see it as a funky looking laptop. If you enjoy reading books, magazines, and newspapers, and you don’t know what an Amazon Kindle is, you’re totally missing out.

The Amazon Kindle is a wireless reader, an e-book system if you will. It’s a highly convenient hand held device capable of storing over 200 titles. If you are someone already familiar with e-books, then you’ll know how convenient something like this can be. I myself am not one to read novels. My mind tends to wander around too fast. But like I said earlier, I’m an avid newspaper freak. I like to read good magazines too. Actually, as I am writing this, I find it frightening how much money I spend on magazine and newspaper subscriptions. Yikes.

Anyway, this product is probably one of the better investments I have made over time. Granted, it’s clearly a first generation product, and I can’t say that it doesn’t have a few quirks here and there. But, for what it does, and for how it benefits me personally in my current situation, I am happy.

I can get the top daily newspapers from around the world, in my hands, instantly. It’s fantastic. I don’t have to go to the newsstand or bookstore to get my paper. Oh, not too mention actually waiting for the newspaper in my mailbox. That doesn’t help much if I’m sitting on the beach in Panama somewhere. I’m paranoid with that type of thing. If I want to read my favorite newspaper column, I want to read it now, when I am interested. I don’t want to read it later when I’m in the middle of doing something else.

Granted, if you are someone who thoroughly enjoys the physical aspects of a real newspaper, this takes some time to get used to. For me personally, I’m accustomed to reading web based versions of the newspaper, without all the extra added garbage that sometimes goes in to it.

My Amazon Kindle has it all. Well, I configured it that way at least. Oh, and it only weighs a whopping 10 ounces. If I had to haul around seven of my favorite newspapers everywhere I go, I’d be pretty unhappy. This thing is so light weight I often wonder how they can make such a thing. Oh well, that’s just me over thinking the product I suppose. But this thing beats my laptop any day. No messy cables, no additional logging on and off of the computer. Oh, and my favorite advantage, no running around trying to find a wifi hotspot. The Kindle has technology like a cell phone you could say. It uses a high speed data network which does not need wifi hotspots. One big difference that distinguishes the Amazon Kindle from a cell phone is that there are no serivce plans or wireless bills that go along with it. That feature alone had me excited about the product from day one.

I guess my biggest complaint of the whole thing was the price. I didn’t want to spend as much as I did for it. But when I think about it, I’m glad I made the purchase, even for convenience alone. Besides, there is a variety of ways to purchase an Amazon Kindle. This by no means has replaced my laptop, my cellphone, or my other geeky gadgets. This just helped me group a huge section of my favorite reading materials together, making it a heck of a lot easier to go about my day.

Now, you’ll see me with my Amazon Kindle electronic paper reader in one hand, and my cup of coffee in the other.
